John DeDakis, a successful writer, teacher, and speaker, is writer-in-residence at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center now through May 29 and will teach Spring Quarter writing classes and workshops. Journalist and novelist, John DeDakis is a former Senior Copy Editor on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." DeDakis (pronounced deh-DAY-kiss) is the bestselling author of two mystery-suspense novels, Fast Track and Bluff. He is a manuscript editor, writing workshop leader, and has taught journalism at American University in Washington, D.C. and novel writing at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. During his award-winning 45-year career in journalism (25 years at CNN), DeDakis has been a White House Correspondent and interviewed such luminaries as Alfred Hitchcock, Jimmy Carter, and Ronald Reagan.
